Management Accounting Dissertation Competition
The AAA Management Accounting Section is pleased to announce the competition for the dissertation award for year 2007. The purpose of this competition is to recognize outstanding dissertation research in the field of management accounting. This year's winner will receive a cash award of $1,000, and the runner-up will receive $250, graciously donated by the IMA. Both the winner and the runner-up will receive the cash awards and plaques at the annual AAA Management Accounting Section luncheon meeting in August 2007.
An entry may be nominated by either the student who authored the dissertation, the supervisor, or one or more members of the dissertation committee. The entry may not be simultaneously submitted to dissertation competitions sponsored by other sections of the American Accounting Association. All entries must include a letter from the supervisor or dissertation chairperson stating that the dissertation has been accepted by the degree-granting institution between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006.
The dissertation and a sole-authored working paper from the dissertation must be submitted. Please note that this competition is open to dissertations submitted to any university worldwide, and can be in any language. The working paper, which should be on a major theme of the dissertation, must be in English.
Electronic submission to the Chair of the Dissertation Award Committee, whose address is listed below, is preferred. Alternatively, four copies of the dissertation and of the sole-authored working paper from the dissertation should be sent to the Chair. Hardcopy submissions will not be returned to the author. All entries must be received by March 1, 2007. Submissions will be judged by a committee of MAS members. Winners will be notified by early July 2007.
