Call for Nominations
American Accounting Association Diversity Section Awards
OBJECTIVE:
To recognize outstanding achievements in research by a member or an officer
To recognize outstanding service to the Diversity Section by a member or an officer
AWARDS:
The following awards, each including an appropriate plaque and a cash award, will be presented at the Diversity Section Meeting at the AAA Annual Conference.
- Research Excellence Award
- Service Excellence Award
SELECTION COMMITTEE:
The advisory council will select the winners.
ELIGIBILTY:
The nominee must be a full financial and active membership in the American Accounting Association - Diversity Section. Active membership implies participation in the diversity section activities at the AAA Annual Conference, participation at the Diversity Section Annual Meeting, or other active involvement.
CRITERIA:
Research Excellence Award
This award recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated an extraordinary level of long-term, consistent success as a scholar resulting in national and/or international recognition of him/her. Nominees may demonstrate success via scholarly research and publications in leading referred journals, citation analysis, scholarly books and monographs, significant recognition of the results of research grants and contracts, recognition of their work by invitations to scholarly and professional meetings, journal editorships, consulting experiences derived from the research successes, etc. Application packages should include:
- A current vitae,
- Recognition of research successes (not noted in vitae), and
- A letter of support from a colleague, a student, etc.

Service Excellence Award
This award recognizes a member who had demonstrated an extraordinary level of long-term commitment to diversity, AAA, and the Diversity Section. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of success in one or more areas that may include public service in an area related to the individual’s professional area and responsibilities, professional service, and/or service activities to AAA and the Diversity Section. Application packages should include:
- A current vitae,
- Specific identification of service activities on which the candidate wants the selection process to focus (if not included in the vitae), and
- A letter of support from a student, a colleague, etc.
