CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
2009 Conference Theme: The Credit Crisis
Members of the American Accounting Association, academicians, practitioners, and doctoral students are invited to participate in the 2009 AAA Northeast Regional Meeting hosted by SUNY - Geneseo and held at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Papers may encompass any topical area of accounting and may be theoretical or practice-oriented. All papers submitted will be sent out for blind referee review. Completed papers should be received no later than Friday, June 26, 2009. Earlier submissions are strongly encouraged. An early review round will be held for all papers received by Friday, June 5, 2009. Notification of acceptance will be sent no later than Friday, September 4, 2009.
Each paper should have a cover sheet containing the following information
- Author(s) Name(s) - Please indicate contact author
- Position/Title & Affiliation
- Mailing Address, Telephone Numbers (office/home/fax) & E-mail
- Award Eligibility – see award descriptions below for eligibility criteria
- Topic Area (based on the following listing):
- Accounting, Behavior and Organizations
- Accounting History
- Artificial Intelligence/Emerging Technologies
- Auditing
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Gender Issues in Accounting
- Government and Non-profit
- Information Systems
- International Accounting
- Management AccountingPublic Interest

Special Publication Opportunity:
The CPA Journal has agreed to consider for publication those papers that develop the 2009 northeast region conference theme of "The Credit Crisis," and that meet The CPA Journal's editorial needs and standards. The authors of the papers selected will also be invited to participate in a special session during the conference. Please clearly indicate on your cover page if you would like your paper to be considered in this category.
Special awards:
An award in the amount of $250 will be given for the best paper received in each of the following two groups:
- Student currently enrolled in an accounting doctoral program, or
- Accounting faculty member who received an accounting doctorate within the last three years.
Please clearly indicate on your cover page if you are eligible and would like to be considered for either of these awards.
