2010 Diversity Section Meeting

November 5-7, 2010 (tentative)
Location: TBD

Members of the American Accounting  Association, academicians, practitioners, and doctoral students are invited to participate in the 2010 AAA Diversity Section Meeting in November 2010. We welcome papers, research proposals, exercises, and other highly interactive sessions that explore gender, race, sexual orientation, class, ability, and other dimensions of difference among people in organizations. Additionally, we routinely schedule interactive sessions in all areas of accounting research to provide valuable research feedback.  Participation in the following areas is invited:

  • Papers (including developed abstracts and completed papers)
  • Embryonic research proposals
  • Panel discussions and workshops

Papers, research proposals, and panels may encompass any topical area of accounting related to diversity and may be theoretical or practice-oriented. See the list of suggested topics below. The program will be structured around the submissions accepted for presentation. The firm deadline for conference submissions is August 16, 2010. Authors will be notified of acceptance within two weeks of submission.

To submit a paper, research proposal, or panel for consideration, send an e-mail with the paper as a Word® file attachment to the Meeting chair at l_stewart@howard.edu with "Diversity Submission" in the subject of the message. Ensure the title is on the Word file attachment but do not include any author identification. Hard-copy submissions will not be accepted. In addition, the e-mail message should contain the following:

  • Title of the paper, research proposal, or panel.
