2nd Annual TLC On-line
Mid-Year Meeting
February 5, 2010
|
The Teaching, Learning & Curriculum (TLC) Section of the American Accounting Association will host its second annual on-line (virtual) mid-year meeting on February 5, 2010. Please consider submitting a paper for this pioneering meeting. Papers can be research based, or seminars on teaching techniques, or who knows what else. A review committee will select the best presentations for the meeting. Keep in mind that this is a virtual meeting; thus, you will make your presentation while sitting in front of your computer. Thus, the presentation will have to be something that can be displayed via PowerPoint, while you explain the subject over the telephone. The meeting will begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time and go through 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The meeting will be co-sponsored by the Wiley Faculty Network, a division of John Wiley & Sons Publishing. Wiley will grant the CPE credit. Submit your paper, proposal, and/or PowerPoint presentation electronically to the address below by December 1, 2009. Send to KSobieralski@umuc.edu. Include a statement of the length of time you would need to make your presentation (probably 30 minutes or 60 minutes would be best).
Every Wiley Connect Pro presentation will have a Wiley Faculty Network staff member running the technology portion of the meeting. Presenters do not need to know anything about the technology as it will all be handled by Wiley. At the time of your session you will log into the meeting space URL along with all of the attendees. During your presentation you will be speaking to the audience through their computer speakers using Voice Over IP and navigating through your PowerPoints within the meeting space. Some presenters even share their computer desktop enabling attendees to experience whatever they are viewing-websites, documents, etc. Attendees are able to ‘talk’ (write) using the chat feature in Connect Pro. You can feel confident that these are easy to attend and enjoyable. No video will be used so you can conduct your presentation from home or your office. All you need is a high-speed Internet connection and a telephone.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: December 1, 2009.
SUBMIT your papers and proposals to the program chair, Kathleen Sobieralski, at the University of Maryland. Her e-mail is: KSobieralski@umuc.edu .
The TLC Program Advisory Committee will make the final selection of presenters.
