The 2012 AAA Southeast Regional Meeting will be held at the Marriott Riverfront Hotel in Savannah, Georgia from April 12-14, 2012.
Participation is invited in the following segments:
- Working papers
- Completed papers
- Proposals for panel discussions and emerging research
Papers and panels may encompass any topical area of accounting and may be theoretical or practice-oriented. Topic areas may include:
- Accounting, Behavior and Organizations
- Accounting Education
- Accounting History
- Artificial Intelligence/Emerging Technologies
- Corporate Governance
- Diversity Issues
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Forensic Accounting
- Gender Issues in Accounting
- Government and Nonprofit
- Information Systems
- International Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Personal Financial Planning
- Public Interest
- Research Implications
- Teaching and Curriculum — theoretical research
- Teaching and Curriculum — pedagogies and strategies
- Two Year College
- Other (please specify)
The program will be structured around the best submissions. The papers will be sent out for "blind referee review."
Best Graduate Student Paper Awards will each be given out to the best papers submitted by a 1st, 2nd, and 3 year graduate student.
Completed submissions for papers, and panel and emerging research proposals, should be received in electronic form no later than January 9, 2012.
Papers will be accepted on a rolling basis with all authors to be notified by February 6, 2012. To submit a paper for consideration, send an email with the paper as a Word file attachment to the Program Chair, Ralph Welton (firstname.lastname@example.org). Do not include any author identification on the Word file attachment but be sure to include complete contact information in the body of your email. Please submit the document as double spaced, 12 point font, with one inch margins. In the subject line of the email message, please use "2012 SEAAA Submission." The message of the email should contain the following:
- Name(s) (Please indicate the contact author)
(If a graduate student, please indicate if you are in your first, second, or third year)
- Complete mailing address
- Telephone numbers (office/fax)
- Email address
- Topic area from the list provided above
- Abstract of the paper — please include a short abstract of the paper (no more than one paragraph)
Authors may choose whether to publish an abstract or the paper in the meeting proceedings. Papers may also have been submitted to the American Accounting Association National meeting, but should not have been published elsewhere before the Southeast meeting.
Paper presentations and panels will be scheduled for Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14.
In addition, this call solicits participants who will serve as:
- Session Moderators
If you wish to participate as a reviewer or moderator, please email the program chair and indicate your interest/preference as a reviewer and/or session moderator and the topical area in which you would like to participate.
There will be a conference award for the Best Manuscript, and a TLC Section award for the Best Educational Paper.
