The Fourth Annual Midyear Forensic and Investigative Accounting Conference will be held March 22–23, 2013, at the Hyatt French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. The meeting is a combined joint meeting with the Public Interest Section of the AAA and we look forward to an exciting exchange of ideas. The conference will consist of keynote speakers, concurrent sessions dealing with a wide variety of fraud, forensic, and investigative accounting topics, panel discussions, case work, and other scholarly activity.

Please consider submitting to the conference any of the following:

  • Research Papers (empirical, behavioral, pedagogical, etc.) that deal with topics relevant to ethics, fraud, and forensic accounting.
  • Teaching Cases in ethics, fraud, and forensic accounting. These papers will either be included in our "hands-on" sessions in which you will lead participants through the case as if they were students in your class or will be included in a poster session.
  • Panel Discussions. If you have a relevant idea for a panel discussion and are willing to find and organize the participants, please submit a short write-up of your idea.
  • Class Materials. We will also have a forum for class materials where you can share unique projects you do in your class that you are willing to share with others.

We strongly encourage Ph.D. Students and their advisors to consider submitting work in progress to consider for presentation or the forum.

If you are currently working on a study that needs participants who are teachers or practitioners of forensic accounting, space will be set aside for conference participants who are willing subjects. Please submit a proposal directly to Tim Pearson tpearson@georgiasouthern.edu that states the subject of your study, the time needed for the completion of your instrument, and any inducement (such as prizes) you might have for participants.

Please consider volunteering to participate as a reviewer and/or moderator. Please go to the AAA website for more volunteer information.

Submission Information and Deadline
Teaching cases should be in a format similar to that used in Issues in Accounting Education. Submissions are not eligible for consideration if they have been published or accepted for publication. Submissions must be completed by 11:59 pm EST on Friday, January 11, 2013.

We are moving to a new improved online submission system. To submit your paper (or to volunteer as a reviewer/discussant/moderator), please CLICK HERE to access the new system using your AAA member ID and password. If you have forgotten your AAA member ID/password, click here to retrieve them. If you do not have a AAA member ID/password, please click here to obtain AAA login credentials. Hope to see you in New Orleans in March!
