The objective of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association is to give greater attention to financial accounting and reporting, and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of education, research, and professional practice by: (1) disseminating and evaluating teaching methods and materials; (2) encouraging, facilitating, and publicizing research interests and projects; and (3) creating opportunities for interchange and cooperation between academics and practitioners.

- FASB Research Fellow Position
The Research Fellowship is an in-residence 12-month appointment in Norwalk, CT, that would typically begin in the middle of the summer and extend for up to 13 months. The Fellow would have an office at the FASB in Norwalk, CT and would be expected to be in the office on a regular basis so that he/she could act as a research resource to the FASB and its Staff.
- 2012 FARS Mid-Year Meeting
We are pleased to announce that the 2012 Midyear Meeting of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section (FARS) will be held in Chicago, Illinois, January 6-7, 2012.
