Doctoral Consortium

Deloitte

We gratefully acknowledge the support of
Deloitte U.S. Firms for the 2010 ABO Doctoral Consortium.

The Accounting, Behavior, and Organizations Section of the AAA is pleased to announce its fifth Doctoral Consortium. The Consortium will be held in conjunction with the Annual ABO Research Conference in Denver, Colorado on October 8 and 9, 2010.  The Consortium will be moderated by Kathryn Kadous.  The Consortium should be of interest to PhD students interested in conducting behavioral research.  New faculty (i.e., first three years post PhD) also will be considered for attendance to the consortium if space is available.

The Consortium will begin with a reception the afternoon of Thursday, October 7.  Sessions will take place the morning of Friday, October 8, immediately prior to the ABO Research Conference.  Sessions will involve expert researchers presenting talks on how to conduct and publish high quality research and on how to manage your career.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenters.

Consortium and Conference registration is free for student members of the AAA (students need not be members of the ABO section).  Registration includes Friday and Saturday breakfast and lunch as well as  receptions on Thursday and Friday.  In addition, two nights hotel, at the conference hotel, will be paid by the ABO section for up to 30 PhD student registrants.  Preference will be given to students who did not receive free hotel rooms at the 2009 ABO conference.  Students receiving a free room will share the room with another student participant, with hotel pairings made by ABO.  For students receiving free rooms for two nights, the cost of the Consortium and Conference will thus be only the cost of transportation and dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and possibly one night of hotel if needed.  This makes the Consortium and Conference a very affordable opportunity for students.

Students interested in attending should send the completed Consortium Application to Kathryn Kadous (kkadous@emory.edu) by July 31.  We will process qualifying applications in the order they are received, so please apply early for the best chance of getting a spot at the Consortium and a free hotel room, if you qualify.

Students attending the consortium are automatically registered for the conference.  New faculty accepted for the consortium will need to register for the conference.

We are excited about this opportunity to bring together new and experienced behavioral researchers to exchange ideas and experiences.  We hope that you will be able to attend.

Regards,
Kathryn Kadous
