ABSTRACT: This paper illustrates 10 lessons learned when integrating an enterprise system in a single course or, for those daring, in a curriculum. Given a setting familiar to many in academe, the story focuses on the experiences of two AIS instructors. They found that software, training, and support is readily available to instructors who want to become leaders and innovators in the use of technology within their classes. They did not wait until they were experts – they took the challenge to incorporate an enterprise system in their AIS course. Instructors teaching any accounting course that includes technology will benefit from the lessons learned.
