Call for papers: Members
of the American Accounting Association, academicians, practitioners and
doctoral students are invited to participate in the 2007 AAA Midwest Regional
Meeting to be held in St. Louis, Missouri from April 12-14, 2007. DEADLINE Papers
must be received by November 1, 2006. To
submit a paper for consideration, send an e-mail with the paper as a Word
file attachment to the program chair at bpgreen@umd.umich.edu. Put “MWAAA submission” in the subject
of the message. Ensure the title is on the Word file attachment but do not
include any author identification. In addition, the e-mail should contain the
following: ·
Title
of the paper. ·
Your
full name(s) as it/they should be printed in the Proceedings. ·
Your
position (student, if applicable) and affiliation. ·
Your
complete mailing address. ·
Your
telephone numbers (office/home/fax) ·
Your
e-mail address. ·
The
topic area of your paper. If possible classify your article into one of the
topic areas listed below.
Otherwise,
identify your topic area. |
GUIDELINES All
papers will be sent out for “blind referee review.” Papers should not have been published elsewhere before the
Midwest meeting. Suggestions
for panel discussions, workshops, and CPE are also invited. Although completed papers are
preferred, extended abstracts will be considered. Papers
that are accepted for presentation at the 2007 Midwest AAA meeting obligate
the author (or one co-author) to register for the meeting and present the
paper at its scheduled time. PROCEEDINGS If
your paper or extended abstract is accepted for presentation a condensed
abstract may be published, at your option, in the Proceedings. AWARDS Three
awards may be available for completed paper submissions. Past awards have
included: one for “Best Paper”, one for “Best Doctoral Student Paper”, and
one for “Best Paper in Teaching and Curriculum Section.” DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS Doctoral students are encouraged to submit papers. In the past we have some scholarships available to cover registration. |
TOPICS Papers may encompass any topical area of accounting and may be theoretical or practice-oriented. The program will be structured around the papers accepted for presentation. Possible topic areas include: §
