Call for Proposals for the Effective Learning Strategies Forum Submission and Presentation Requirements

Submissions are invited for the Effective Learning Strategies Forum for the 2009 AAA Midwest Regional Meeting. The purpose of the ELS Forum is to share innovative teaching strategies that enhance accounting education. Participants will share their ideas and experiences through an interactive poster presentation. Submissions will be selected through a blind peer review process. Submit your proposal by December 1, 2008 to bonnie.klamm@ndsu.edu

Submit your proposal in two separate files.

1. In a word document, submit the following information:

a. Your name, school affiliation, email address, phone number

b. Proposed ELS forum title

c. Name the file using your last name and the first three words of your proposal title.

2. In a word document, submit the following information:

a. Proposed ELS forum title

b. 250 word description of your proposal, including the nature of the learning strategy, how it fosters student engagement and interaction, learning outcomes, assessment and evaluation of the strategy, other key issues and concepts that make the strategy unique.

c. Name your file ELS followed by the first three words of your proposal title.

Presentation information

1. Each ELS presenter will have a table that is approximately 6’ by 30” with a foldout poster board that is approximately 48” by 36”.

2. The tables provide room for handouts or visuals that the presenter deems appropriate.

3. There will be poster pins for attaching pictures, slides, letters, or anything else that the presenter deems appropriate.
