2008 Ohio Region Meeting

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Deadline for paper submissions: February 1, 2008

Papers will be accepted on a rolling basis with all authors to be notified by March 17th.

The 2008 AAA Ohio Regional Meeting will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Dayton, Ohio from April 24-26, 2008. The Dayton Marriott is located off I-75 south of Dayton and is adjacent to the University of Dayton.

Members of the American Accounting Association, academicians, practitioners, and doctoral students are invited to participate in any of the following segments of the meeting:

  • Completed papers
  • Proposals for panel discussions, workshops, and emerging research
  • Proposals for CPE (2 hour or 4 hour sessions)
  • Teaching strategies forum

Papers, panels, and CPE may encompass any topical area of accounting and may be theoretical or practice-oriented. The papers will be sent out for "blind referee review." Completed submissions should be received in electronic form no later than Friday, February 1, 2008. Notification of acceptance will be sent no later than Monday, March 17, 2008.

To submit a paper for consideration, send an e-mail with the paper as a Word file attachment to Janet Greenlee at AAAOhio2008@udayton.edu

Do not include any author identification on the Word file attachment. However, the e-mail should contain the following:

Abstracts will be published in the meeting proceedings. Papers may also have been submitted to the American Accounting Association National meeting, but should not have been published elsewhere before the Ohio meeting.

CPE sessions will be scheduled for Thursday, April 24. Paper presentations, panels, a teaching strategies forum, and workshops will be scheduled for Friday, April 25 and Saturday April 26.

In addition, this call solicits participants who will serve as:

  • Session Moderator

Special Awards

The following awards are expected to be given at the meeting:

  2. Best Student Manuscript (Undergraduate and Master's Level)
  3. Best Teaching and Curriculum Paper
  4. Distinguished Paper Award for the Ohio Regional Meeting
