Effective Learning Strategies Poster Session

This Forum showcases ideas, research, strategies and education innovations that support learning in accounting. There will be over 20 posters featuring how-to-teach tips and techniques for on campus, online, and hybrid courses, as well as accounting and technology hot topics. The interactive poster format provides opportunities for presenters to have an intimate forum for exchange of ideas and resources. These posters are peer reviewed by members of the CTLA Planning Committee.

Do you have a favorite teaching tip, best practice, or innovation you want to share with other accounting faculty at the upcoming Ohio Regional AAA meeting May 6 - 8 at the Hyatt on Capital Square hotel?  Your submission will be peer-reviewed within two weeks of submission for quick acceptance/rejection turnaround so you will have time to register for the meeting.
To submit, send an email to Deirdre@aaahq.org, with “Ohio Meeting ELS Poster Submission” in the subject line.

You also need to include all of the following:

1. ELS presentation title.
2. Name and affiliation of presenter(s). [Presenters will be listed in program alphabetically]
3. Contact phone and email information of presenter(s)
4. POLICY NOTE:  The AAA does not consider it appropriate for presenters to explicitly market (through displays or distribution of promotional materials, etc.) commercial products in which they have a financial interest. If you plan to include products or services in your presentation that may fall into this category, please provide the names of those products/services here and a rationale for their inclusion in your presentation. If none, please indicate "none." (Limit 40 words - 350 characters)
5. DETAILED DESCRIPTION:  In 200 words or less, describe the session’s focus including the key issues and concepts that will be addressed. Include learning outcomes – What will participants learn from your session? (Limit: approximately 200 words - 1250 characters)
6. PROMOTIONAL DESCRIPTION:  In 40 words or less, "sell" your session to a prospective attendee. What is the essence of the ELS Poster Session? What will the audience learn? This is your chance to market your session, so try to make the description appealing, but not misleading. (Limit: approximately 40 words - 350 characters)

REVIEW OF PROPOSALS:  ELS proposals will be reviewed by the Conference on Teaching and Learning in Accounting Planning Committee. Please direct questions and/or requests for more information to Deirdre Harris [deirdre@aaahq.org] at the AAA office in Sarasota. Note: Incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.

The ELS session will be Friday afternoon, May 7.
