Notice of Editorial Transition

ST. PIERRE APPOINTED EDITOR OF ISSUES IN ACCOUNTING EDUCATION

I am pleased to announce that Kent St. Pierre, University of Delaware, will be editor of Issues in Accounting Education effective with the May 2008 issue. Kent St. Pierre is a very experienced editor, having edited Journal of Accounting Education for many years. I am confident that he will do an excellent job and bring new ideas to the journal.

Professor St. Pierre and I have a transition plan that we hope will minimize inconvenience to authors. My Editorial Board will complete the review process of all manuscripts received prior to December 31, 2006. Professor St. Pierre has agreed to publish papers accepted by my Editorial Board if the review process ends after the submission date for the May 2008 issue. All new manuscripts should be sent to Professor Kent St. Pierre, 220 Purnell Hall, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716.

I am pleased that manuscript submissions have increased during my tenure as Editor. During the first year (2004) I received 90 manuscripts, the second year 117, and, as of December 31, 2006, the journal has received 164 manuscripts. I believe this increased rate of submission indicates that concerns about the stability of the journal have been alleviated.

If you have concerns or questions about the transition, please feel free to contact me or Kent St. Pierre. Your understanding during this period of transition will be appreciated by both the incoming and the outgoing Editorial Boards.
