Regions Committee
The key job of the coordinator is to try and bring people interested in emerging technology issues and AI in their regions together to help each other/support each other in any ways necessary.
They also try to provide information on what is happening in the regions to the rest of the section membership where this is of wider interest (usually via the section newsletter and on our new website).
They also provide information to the regional section membership of what is going on elsewhere in other regions (e.g. best practice sharing/ideas for regional meetings and so on) thatt their region could benefit from.
Trying to ensure a presence and some form of emerging technologies activity at the regional meetings is a further key task of the regional coordinator.
The regional coordinators play a key role in helping develop the vitality of our section and serve as a liaison between the regional officers and the Section. The regional coordinators coordinate section activities in each region.
In addition to regional duties, the regional coordinators will meet annually to coordinate regional activities and share experiences and best practices (if it is not possible to meet, the Chair of the Regional Programs will provide this information to all non-attending regional coordinators); and provide a list of reviewers or other information as requested by the regional program chairperson.
The International Coordinators shall serve as liaison between the Section and their area to help ensure the best possible Section workshops, panels and paper presentations at international meetings.
The Chair is expected to provide coordination among the regions and any other needed guidance or suggestions.
