Western Region
of the American Accounting Association

2006 Annual Meeting
April 27–29, 2006
Doubletree Hotel
Portland, Oregon
|
Theme: Is Accounting Education Responsive to
the Rapidly Changing Global Environment?
Accounting educators, students, and
professionals are invited to submit completed manuscripts and ideas for panels
or workshops, for presentation at the AAA's 2006 Annual Western Region Meeting.
The 41st annual meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland, Oregon.
Academics and professionals from the Western Region, as well as those from
other regions and overseas, are welcome to participate. CPE credit will be
available. Awards for Best Research Paper and Best Education Paper are a plaque
and $500. Submissions must be received by the deadline to be eligible for these
awards.
The deadline for paper submissions and
panel/workshop proposals is February 6, 2006. Details and updates will be posted
periodically on the Region's Internet home page (http://aaahq.org/western/western.htm).
Authors who wish to have their papers considered
for the meeting should email their completed papers to the Program Chair, Dr.
Jeanne Yamamura by February 6, 2006. Papers will be blind refereed.
Authors of accepted papers will have the choice of publishing either the paper
or an abstract in the meeting proceedings (CD-ROM). Authors of accepted papers
will be required to submit a short abstract for publication in the conference
program. At least one author of an accepted paper must register for the meeting
and present the paper. For consistency and as an aid to reviewers, papers
should use the Accounting Review style. Papers should be double-spaced, using a
12-point type, and have 1" margins all around. Pages should be numbered
and include a cover page indicating the name, title, affiliation, complete
postal address, e-mail address, telephone number and fax number of the
author(s). Except for the title, none of this information should appear
anywhere else in the paper. The cover page should also include at the bottom an
indication of which section of the AAA best matches the topic of the paper
(e.g., ABO, Auditing, Financial Reporting, or Teaching & Curriculum).
Sections are listed at the AAA's web site.
Those interested in conducting workshops or
giving panel presentations should submit their proposals to the Region's
President, Dr. Benjamin Tai, by February 6, 2006. A half-day
plant tour to Boeing Company in Portland
will be held in the afternoon on Thursday, April 27. Paper and panel
presentations will take place in 90-minute concurrent sessions all day Friday,
and until noon on Saturday.
