Accounting Horizons – How to Communicate Academic Research to a Broad Audience

Accounting Horizons publishes rigorous academic research and thought-provoking perspectives that are pertinent to the accounting profession. The journal will hold a one-hour webinar starting at 11 am EST on September 15, 2026 (Tuesday). A key factor in bridging the gap between academic research and practice is “communication.” This communication includes three components: (1) writing academic papers (at least the front end of a paper) that are accessible to a broad audience, (2) writing articles for non-academic outlets based on your academic research, and (3) participating in policy discussions. Joe Brazel and Anup Srivastava, editors of Accounting Horizons, will share their experience and tips with you. There will be time for Q&A. The event will not be recorded.

Learning Objective(s): 1. Encourage communication of accounting academic research to a broad audience.
2. Share experience, tips, and pointers regarding the communication of accounting research.
