As demand for accounting graduates continues to grow, effective transfer pathways between two-year and four-year institutions are critical to sustaining the profession's talent pipeline. This session explores how strategic partnerships, curriculum alignment, and targeted student support systems can improve pathways for community college students to successfully transfer, remain competitive, and complete baccalaureate degrees in accounting.
Panelists from the Future Accountants Sponsoring Organizations (FASO) Community College Working Group will share ideas for developing collaborative strategies-such as mentorship programs, transfer fairs, and partnerships with Beta Alpha Psi and state CPA societies-to strengthen internship preparedness and connections, enhance transfer readiness, increase graduation rates, and support CPA-track preparedness.
Participants' takeaways will include practical toolkits and resources, including the new futureaccountants.org website, they can use to support and scale these initiatives at their own institutions.
