Welcome to the 2027 AIS New Scholars Consortium, a unique professional development opportunity designed to support early-career AIS faculty and doctoral students as they build their research, teaching, and professional networks.
Beginning a faculty career brings both exciting opportunities and new challenges. The Consortium provides a dedicated environment for new AIS faculty to connect with scholars who share similar teaching and research interests, exchange ideas about teaching AIS and emerging technologies, a explore research opportunities, and develop relationships within the AIS community.
Participants will also have opportunities to network with colleagues who teach similar courses, engage with vendors and professionals working with technologies used in our classrooms and research, and learn from experienced AIS faculty and thought leaders in the profession.
Our goal is simple: create a Consortium where curiosity leads to conversation, conversation leads to collaboration, and new scholars leave with relationships and ideas that continue well beyond the meeting.
Come curious. Bring your ideas. Leave with new connections, new perspectives, and new possibilities for your research and teaching.
The AIS New Scholars Consortium is designed for first-, second-, and third-year AIS assistant professors and doctoral students who are members of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and either the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) Section or Strategic and Emerging Technologies (SET) Section.
Priority consideration will be given to first-year tenure-track AIS assistant professors. Remaining spaces will be offered to eligible second- and third-year AIS assistant professors and doctoral students, subject to availability.
If you have not yet joined the AAA and the AIS or SET Section, please complete your membership before applying:

Build Your AIS Community
The New Scholars Consortium is more than a day of sessions. It is an opportunity to begin building the community that can support you throughout your academic career.
Meet colleagues who teach what you teach. Connect with scholars who research questions that interest you. Engage with vendors and professionals working with the technologies shaping our classrooms and profession. Exchange ideas with faculty who understand the opportunities and challenges of teaching and researching AIS.
Most importantly, build relationships with people you can continue to call on for ideas, collaboration, resources, and support long after the Consortium ends.
