Special Issue of Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting: Process Mining in Accounting
The Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting (JETA) is the academic journal of the Strategic and Emerging Technologies Section of the American Accounting Association. In response to the challenges presented by today’s new technology development and innovations, the JETA editorial team is excited to provide an opportunity for accounting and information systems academics to publish their work on the combination of process mining and accounting. Our objective is to bridge the gap between the accounting and the information systems community. The accounting community learns from new opportunities and challenges, whereas the information systems community might learn from the domain specific challenges accountants’ face.
JETA invites researchers to submit scientific research papers to be published in a Special Issue on process mining in accounting. The Special Issue will also consider work from professionals. Topics include but are not limited to the following topics:
- Internal audit and Process Mining
- External audit and Process Mining
- Process Mining and accounting processes
- Process Mining case studies in an accounting context
- The applicability of Process Mining within the accounting profession
- Frameworks on Process Mining within an accounting setting
- The acceptance of Process Mining software in an auditing context
All research methods are welcome, including review, analytical, archival, design science, behavioral, qualitative, field and case study.
