Teaching Ethics and Fraud to Accounting Students

This panel discussion draws on the expert knowledge of accounting educators who have taught courses in Accounting Ethics or Fraud. They will discuss the pedagogy of teaching including learning objectives, teaching style, course materials, feedback, and assessment. Specifically, the following issues will be addressed.

  • Personalizing ethics education.
  • Engaging students in discussions about accounting ethics.
  • Engaging students about accounting ethics through online discussions and assignments.
  • Using the “RADAR’ model of decision making: Research, Analyze, Decide, Act, and Reflect.
  • Integrating fraud detection and prevention skills into the accounting curriculum.
