The International Accounting Research Webinar Series
by the International Accounting Section
You are invited to participate in a research webinar series presenting International Accounting Research.
The webinars will be one hour in length with the first 20 minutes reserved for the author’s presentation, and the following 40 minutes reserved for a question & answer session. Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar using the chat function in zoom and may be asked to unmute themselves during the session to ask their question. Webinar sessions will be recorded and made available through the IAS section website. Please note that you may be recorded if you unmute your audio or video during the seminar.

President's Letter from 2022-2023 IAS Section President, Gia Chevis
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are having a wonderful year so far! I don’t know that I’ve quite adjusted to a “new normal” after the height of the pandemic, but these last few years have certainly been an interesting time. Maybe it’s age, or the obscuring mists of time, but it sure feels like the rate of change has been much faster over the last five years than it was for the first fifteen of my academic career, and that’s including the heyday of international financial reporting convergence!
It is with great delight, therefore, that I’m able to return again and again to my International Accounting Section family. The home I have found in this wonderful group of people has been a balm for my soul. Whether you’ve been in the section for what feels like forever or you’re new to the team, I hope that the midyear and annual meetings are occasions for connection and celebration.
President's Letter

IAS Section President
Dear fellow International Accounting Section (IAS) members,
I am deeply honored to serve as the president of the International Accounting Section (IAS) of the American Accounting Association (AAA) for 2024-2025. As the first IAS president from Australia, this is a role I accept with great sense of responsibility.
I would like to begin my tenure by extending my gratitude to Lucy Chen for her leadership and dedication to the Section and our shared vision to “serve as a forum to share and disseminate information about international accounting, education, and research issues and to serve as a point of entry into AAA for international faculty and doctoral students, and increase community of international academics, practitioners, standard setters and researchers”.
Journal
Journal of International Accounting
The Journal of International Accounting Research publishes articles that increase our understanding of the development and use of international accounting and reporting practices or attempt to improve extant practices. International accounting is broadly interpreted to include the reporting of international economic transactions; the study of differences among practices across countries; the study of interesting institutional and cultural factors that shape practices in a single country but have international implications; and the effect of international accounting practices on users. The Journal has a diverse readership and is interested in articles in auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, systems, tax, and other specialties within the field of accounting.
