  • Susan Haka, Winner of the 2016 MAS Lifetime Achievement Award

    The Section has awarded Susan Haka, from Michigan State University, as the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award. Sponsored by the AICPA and the CIMA, this award is given to individuals who have "...have made significant contributions to education, research and practice over a sustained period of time through scholarly endeavors, teaching excellence, educational innovation and or service to the MAS section." Sue will receive the award at the upcoming 2016 MAS Midyear Meeting in Dallas, TX, January 7-9.

Purpose: This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contribution to the Management Accounting Section.

Eligibility and Selection Process: Nomination of a candidate is confidential. Anyone wishing to nominate a candidate for the award should submit a letter nominating the candidate, any supporting materials such as letters from other supporters of the candidate and, where possible, a current Curriculum Vitae to the Chair of the Lifetime Contribution to Management Accounting Award Committee. Nominations submitted in prior years will be considered along with nominations submitted this year. The closing date for Nominations is September 1, 2021. The award will be presented at the Midyear Meeting of the Management Accounting Section in January 2022.
The Award Committee will consist of the three (3) most immediate past presidents of the MAS each serving staggered three (3) year terms. The most senior member, i.e., the member with one year remaining on his or her term, will serve as chair. For the 2022 award, the chair is Anne M. Farrell, Miami University.

Award:
The winner will receive a plaque and $3,500. The AICPA is sponsoring this award.
