President's Letter

Dear Fellow Section Members,

What a pleasure it was to see such engagement in our joint AAA International Section/IAAER meeting held from January 28-30, 2021. The quality of the meeting was outstanding--every session was well attended with active participation! It is impossible in this letter to thank all of the many individuals who made this meeting so successful. Nonetheless, I again must thank meeting co-chairs Sydney Shu (Miami University – Ohio) and Kim Duong (Old Dominion University), as well as track chair Oksana Kim (Minnesota State University – Mankato) and Donna Street (IAAER Director of Research and University of Dayton), for their outstanding work in organizing the meeting. The Ph.D./New Faculty Consortium was well organized by Maria Vulcheyva (Florida International University) and involved many of the executive leaders of IAAER. Young researchers and others told me how much they appreciated the plenary sessions. Journal of International Accounting

The Journal of International Accounting Research publishes articles that increase our understanding of the development and use of international accounting and reporting practices or attempt to improve extant practices. International accounting is broadly interpreted to include the reporting of international economic transactions; the study of differences among practices across countries; the study of interesting institutional and cultural factors that shape practices in a single country but have international implications; and the effect of international accounting practices on users. The Journal has a diverse readership and is interested in articles in auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, systems, tax, and other specialties within the field of accounting.
