12:00 pm (EDT) (9:00 am PDT)
Webinar Description:
Despite the recent growth in online education, many educators still find it difficult to connect with their online students and to get their students engaged in course work. While there is no “magic bullet” that will create an on-campus environment in an online setting, there are many tricks and techniques that can help improve student engagement and provide a better environment for instructors and students alike.
In this webinar, we will discuss and demonstrate several of the trick and techniques that we have used to be more successful in an online classroom. We will also talk about some methods that haven’t worked well, as a warning for other instructors. Topics will include effectively using live sessions, creating engaging videos, adjusting expectations, engaging with students through discussion boards and email, and more.
