Prior Awards Notable Contributions to the Accounting Literature Award To recognize a single (or perhaps a series) of notable (influential) research papers that make a direct and significant contribution to government and nonprofit accounting research. Prior Awards _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Outstanding Dissertation Award The GNP Section sponsors a competitive dissertation award each year. An applicant must be a doctoral candidate with a major or emphasis in accounting from a doctoral-granting institution in the United States of America or a foreign country. The dissertation must have been successfully defended between March 1st of last year and April 14th of this year. The grant application should include a copy of the dissertation and a 10–20 page summary addressing the relevance of the study to governmental and nonprofit accounting, the research methods employed, and an overview of the findings. Nominations, by self or others, should be made to the Chairperson of the Outstanding Dissertation Award Committee: Amanda Beck at abeck@gsu.edu. Email submissions are preferred.
