Our Section mission is to strive to stimulate and improve the teaching, researching and practice of accounting that assists in the effective and efficient management of entities. 2025 GOVERNMENT AND NONPROFIT SECTION MIDYEAR MEETING The Leadership of the Government and Nonprofit Section is excited to announce our 2025 meeting which will be held at Florida International University-Brickell Downtown in Miami, Florida, from February 28 to March 1, 2025. The meeting will provide an opportunity to: Network and collaborate with colleagues. Remain current on issues in the GNP area, including FASB and GASB updates. Learn about new and emerging GNP research. Present your research, case, or teaching paper. Gain ideas for your classroom. See old friends in the friendliest section of the AAA. We welcome theoretical, practical, pedagogical, and case-study papers on any government or nonprofit accounting research topic. We encourage the submission of completed studies, emerging studies (studies in the early stages of development), and dialogue studies (studies approaching completion). Papers not accepted for concurrent sessions will be considered for the research roundtable session. Papers accepted for concurrent paper sessions will be considered for the best paper award. Dr. Tinkelman received this honor at the GNP Section Midyear Meeting that was held March 10-11, 2023. President's Letter Message from Nancy Chun Feng, Suffolk University AAA GNP Section President Greetings, GNP Colleagues! I am truly honored to serve as your GNP President. Thank you for entrusting me with this opportunity! I am excited about collaborating with you and advancing the section for another year. It is a privilege to serve a distinguished community of government and not-for-profit accounting scholars, and I take pride in being part of the most collegial section within the AAA. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Brian McAllister for his many years of service to our section and for serving as President of the section this past year. Brian has been deeply involved and served our section very well. He did an excellent job organizing the 2023 Midyear Meeting (MYM) in Denver, Colorado.
