Invitation & Call for Papers for Foreign Participants

We invite you to join us in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, for the 2015 Conference on Transparency & Accountability with a specific focus on the influence of accounting & auditing in providing transparency & accountability in terms of public and private sectors. The conference will take place October 23-24, 2015 but its venue will be announced later. Participants should plan on arriving on Thursday, October 22 and departing on October 25. Excursions to the main sights of Ankara will also be organized.

Paper Submission Procedure: You are invited to submit your original, unpublished full papers for presentation. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Importance of transparency & accountability in economic development
  • Importance of transparency & accountability in financial reporting
  • Importance of transparency & accountability in auditing
  • Importance of transparency & accountability in public & private sectors (Practice-oriented papers are expected)
  • Importance of transparency & accountability in corporate governance
  • Importance of corporate social responsibility in financial reporting
  • Importance of transparency in ethics

Accepted papers will be considered for publication in “World of Accounting Science”, official academic journal of AARCF, which is indexed by "EBCSO Academic Search Complete" (subject to the authors’ compliance with referee and editor requests). Papers can be submitted in English & Turkish.

Deadline to submit your paper is Sunday, August 16, 2015. Early submission is encouraged.

Each paper submission should include a title page listing the corresponding author's name and email address. All papers in Word or PDF format must be emailed to: congress@modav.org.tr

Kindly indicate in the email whether you wish your paper to be considered for publication in “World of Accounting Science”.

About the city: Ankara is the center of the Turkish government, and an important commercial and industrial city of Turkey. Located in Central Anatolia, Ankara is an important crossroads of trade, strategically located at the center of Turkey's highway and railway networks, and serves as the marketing center for the surrounding agricultural area. Nearby attractions include Statue of Atatürk, Ankara Citadel, Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, and Ankara Ethnography Museum.

How to reach Ankara: Ankara is conveniently located for those who are willing to join us from foreign countries. Major airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, & Qatar Airways generally offer non-stop flights from Munich, Frankfurt, Istanbul & Doha.

Visa Requirement for foreign participants: To enter into Turkey, getting a Visa is the responsibility of foreign participants. They can apply for e-Visa at www.evisa.gov.tr if they are eligible to do so or they can apply for a regular Visa at the Turkish Consulate General located in their country (please check www.mfa.gov.tr for further information).

About AARCF: AARCF was established in 1995 to establish a union for Turkish accounting academics and organized several workshops, conferences and university visits since its inception. In order to establish a network between Turkish and foreign accounting academics, International Conference on Accounting has been organized since 2004. Academic journal “World of Accounting Science” has been published since 1999 to create another publication outlet for Turkish and foreign accounting academics and is indexed by EBSCO starting from 2009.
