Special Issue of Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting: Cutting-edge Technologies in Classroom
The Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting (JETA) is the academic journal of the Strategic and Emerging Technologies Section of the American Accounting Association. In response to the challenges presented by today’s new technology development and innovations, the JETA editorial team is excited to provide an opportunity for accounting academic to publish the new and “cool” technologies used in the classroom. Our objectives are to facilitate the sharing of technology related accounting teaching experience and help accounting professors use cutting-edge technologies to teach tech-savvy new generation of students.
In conjunction with AIS Educator Association and its conference, JETA invites educators to submit educational papers and instructional cases to be published in a special issue on cutting-edge technologies in the classroom. Topics include but are not limited to the following applications in classroom:
- Social media
- Mobile technologies (smart phone, tablet computer, hand-held devices, etc.)
- "Cool" apps
- Robots
- Various combinations of the above
The JETA editorial board will work with the officers of the AIS Educator Association to screen papers submitted to the AIS Educator’s conference and papers sent to JETA editor directly to select promising papers that may be suitable for publication in JETA. The JETA editor will contact authors of selected papers and invite their submissions to the Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. Although the selected papers will go through the regular JETA reviewing process, we expect “fast track” review after the screening selection. Educational papers and instructional cases should be prepared in a format similar to that used in Issues in Accounting Education.
The submission deadline will be June 30, 2015. Please email a submission to JETA editor Miklos Vasarhelyi at miklosv@andromeda.rutgers.edu.
