Welcome to the 2020 International Accounting Sections 16th Annual PhD/New Faculty Consortium online application form


The International Accounting Section PhD/New Faculty Consortium, partially funded by the KPMG Foundation, will be held from 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Thursday,  January 23, 2020 at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, Florida.

Consortium participants are expected to attend the Midyear Meeting that runs from 8:30 am Friday, January 24th through Saturday, January 25th.

Interested PhD students and faculty within three years of graduation are encouraged to complete the application from by Sunday, November 24, 2019. Capacity is limited; please submit your application as soon as possible. You will receive a decision email by Friday, December 13, 2019. 

Attendance is subject to approval by the consortium organizers and doctoral students who have not attended the consortium previously will be given priority. 

Note that you will need to be an American Accounting Association (AAA) member and a member of the International Accounting Section (IAS) to apply for the Consortium.

Be sure to do this before applying to the Consortium because you will need your AAA Member number to complete the application.

Hotel Information
Up to 20 accepted doctoral students will have all meeting fees waived (inclusive of the Midyear Meeting fee) and room nights at the conference hotel will be covered by the Section as follows:

- Single occupancy – 1 night
- Double occupancy when shared with another consortium participant – up to 2 nights

Hotel accommodations will be reimbursed AFTER the meeting, provided that the student attends the full consortium and Midyear Meeting and stays at the meeting hotel.  Students should make their reservation directly with the hotel and will need to provide a credit card number to the hotel. A maximum of two students can stay in one hotel room. NOTE: students who share a room should provide both names to the hotel when making reservations.

Up to 10 additional accepted doctoral students or new faculty will have consortium fees waived but will be required to pay the Midyear Meeting fee.
