2024-2025 Accounting Horizons Memorials Task Force
The purpose of the Accounting Horizons Memorials Task Force is to develop a transparent process by which memorials for deceased members of the American Accounting Association (AAA) are (1) solicited, (2) nominated, (3) selected (including criteria for eligibility and selection), and (4) published in the AAA journal, Accounting Horizons.
Charge
- Developing process recommendations about the time frame after an individual’s death by which a nomination is to be submitted as well as what a reasonable number of memorials published by the AAA would be on an annual basis.
- Developing a suggested implementation date for the first solicitation of memorials once the new process is established.
- Developing guidance about the process of outsourcing of the preparation of memorials to members of the Academy of Accounting Historians Section of the AAA including the time frame for preparing those memorials.
Membership
- New Task Force members are appointed prior to the Annual Meeting by the AAA Management Team.
Estimated Time Commitment
- The Task Force meets as needed at the discretion of the Chair.

- Fulfill the task force charge as above.
