Every year during the spring Board and Council meetings, Dues and Annual Meeting registration fees are reviewed and approved. For the last several years the strategy guiding those changes has been to keep dues increases low at $5 annually and to match Annual Meeting fees to expected costs in that year's location. These practices, coupled with strong revenues from publications to subsidize our other activities, have enabled the AAA to sustain adequate reserves for financial viability (at approximately $6MM).
Recent analyses of current economic factors, and benchmarking with similar organizations, make it clear that we need to adjust our strategy. Accordingly, for this year, the Council has approved a larger Dues increase and the Board has approved a larger Annual Meeting Fee increase than in prior years. This video will explain the market trends and Board and Council decisions.
