This session is the first in a series and is designed for faculty members who are considering taking on the role of department chair. We will discuss the benefits and challenges of serving in the chair role. We will also talk about the things a faculty member might want to do in advance, in order to prepare for a successful transition into the chair role. The session will be most beneficial for faculty members who haven't yet served in the chair role but think they might want to do so in future.

Learning Objective(s): 1. To understand the benefits and challenges of serving as the chair of an accounting department. 2. To learn about advance preparation for a role as the chair of an accounting department.
