Upskilling Students and Uplifting Communities: the SURE℠ Educational Model

During this webinar, you will learn about the SURE (Stimulating Urban Renewal Through Entrepreneurship) educational model and how to develop one at your institution. SURE℠ is an educational program that connects University of Houston students, under-resourced entrepreneurs, and Houston business executives for an educational experience with community impact. The goals of the program are to train students in the human-centered skills they need and to economically empower entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how the SURE educational model develops students with the human-centered skills they need and trains entrepreneurs from the community, all inside the classroom.
2. Learn how to develop a similar program at your institution with minimal budget, by leveraging corporate, community, and academic partnerships, and using early successes to raise funds for future programming.
