Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) Accounting Pipeline Programs and Research
Recent CAQ research reveals that reaching students before they get to college is critical, with 66% of accounting majors reporting they had decided to major in accounting before they arrived on a college campus. The CAQ’s Accounting+ has partnered with a number of organizations to help reach younger audiences. The Accounting Careers: Limitless Opportunities digital course is a scalable program that has been implemented in over 3,000 high schools in the 2023-2024 school year, with impressive results. The digital content is available to CAQ’s stakeholders to leverage across their own high school programs. The CAQ is also reaching younger audiences through partnerships with the Pittsburgh Steelers and LeBron James’ SpringHill Media company, while continuing to build the Accounting+ brand on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. Liz Barentzen, CAQ’s VP of Talent Initiatives will share more about these resources and others, that are available to the academic community.
Learning Objective(s): To learn about CAQ programs and research to address the pipeline of accounting students.
