2021 Auditing Section Midyear Meeting

Submissions

If the 2021 Auditing Section Midyear Meeting needs to be held virtually, the section is committed to doing so at a low cost for our members. Accordingly, we encourage you to submit your manuscripts for the meeting! The deadline for submission of manuscripts for the conference has been extended to Thursday, September 17, 2020 (11:59 pm EDT). There will be a $50 submission fee.

We welcome submissions of papers addressing auditing, attestation, and assurance topics, including all paradigms and theoretical foundations (e.g., sociology, psychology, economics) and all research methods (e.g., analytical, archival, case-based, interviews, experimental, survey). Authors will automatically be added to the pool of potential reviewers.

Submitted manuscripts should follow the style and submission guidelines of Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, except the requirement to submit separate electronic files. The conference submission system only allows you to upload one file, which should contain the body of your paper and should not contain a cover page or file name with any author-related information.

Papers are not eligible for submission if they: 1) have been published or accepted for publication, 2) were presented at the 2020 AAA Annual Meeting, or 3) were presented at more than one AAA regional meeting or other academic conference.

The extended submission deadline is 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, September 17, 2020, and there is a non-refundable $50 submission fee. The submission process includes two steps:

  1. Pay the submission fee. To pay the fee, please CLICK HERE. Once you have paid the submission fee, locate the Payment Number in the upper left corner of the payment confirmation you receive.
     
  2. Submit your paper. When you have completed step one (above), you may submit your paper through the electronic submission system. Please CLICK HERE to access the submission system, and login using your AAA member ID and password. During the submission process, you will need to provide a Submission Fee Acknowledgement Code. Please enter the Payment Number you obtained in the previous step here. We also ask that you volunteer as a reviewer, discussant, and/or moderator while you are already logged in to the submission system.

Please note: The Midyear Meeting planning committee remains vigilant in assessing the potential need to modify the format of this year’s meeting due to a variety of factors, including the impact of COVID-19 on travel restrictions and on the operating situation of many colleges and universities. We will remain in contact with our membership as the meeting approaches with planning updates.
