The 36th Annual American Taxation Association (ATA) Midyear Meeting

February 22-24, 2024

Long Beach, CA

Call for Research Submissions

The American Taxation Association Research Resources and Methodologies Committee invites submissions of research papers that advance our knowledge of taxation and tax accounting.

To be considered for the concurrent research sessions at the ATA Midyear Meeting, manuscripts must be sufficiently developed to allow informed feedback (e.g., well-developed background and theory, clearly stated hypotheses, and completed preliminary statistical analysis). We encourage submission across a wide variety of topics and methodologies and welcome the examination of new topics (including DEI) and the use of novel theories, databases, and settings. The research sessions are intended to provide authors with relevant and timely feedback and to provide the audience with exposure to cutting edge research.

Note that a submission to the JATA Conference and JLTR Conference is separate from a submission to the concurrent research sessions at the ATA Midyear Meeting. If you would like your paper to be considered for the JATA or JLTR Conference and an ATA Midyear Meeting concurrent session, please check the box indicating this when you submit your paper. Please also indicate if you would like your paper considered for a research forum.  Authors are assigned a table to present their paper while attendees move around the meeting room to each table.

Submissions must be completed by November 6, 2023 11:59pm Eastern.
