Eric Cho
Eric Cho, Ph.D. is Executive Director at Balbec Capital LP. As the head of quantitative research and data analytics, Eric oversees Balbec’s data infrastructure and operational automations around data flow. Eric’s team develops Balbec’s proprietary trading platform – “Cracken” – which manages dataflow on over 30TB data on millions of assets. After completing his Finance Ph.D. from UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2017, Eric worked in KIS Asset Pricing (Moody’s Affiliate) for 3 years and Revelio Labs for 1 year where he has developed financial models and automations around structured and unstructured data. While at UCLA, Eric’s research interest has been on information friction and its’ implication on asset prices.
Eric Cohen
Eric E. Cohen is an accounting technology futurist with a long history of seeking to get the accounting profession ready for technology advances, and steering technology for the need of accountants and auditors. A practicing CPA (NY, PA), his firm Cohen Computer Consulting specializes in helping growing businesses cope with and benefit from technology. Mr. Cohen has served on the PCAOB Technology Innovation Alliance Working Group, and also for numerous committees for the AICPA, PICPA, and NYSSCPA. He is a prolific author, an enthusiastic speaker, and enjoys a long history working with the academic community in research and as an "adjunct professor for hire" on technology topics. He is especially active in global technology standards setting efforts, including his role as a founder of XBRL and national representative to numerous ISO technical committees in areas like blockchain, audit data standardization, and circular economy.
Remsen Jennings
Remsen is a Deputy Service Delivery Leader in the Americas Assurance Data & Intelligence Delivery (DID) Center of Excellence at Ernst & Young LLP, where he focuses on overseeing a team of auditors, data specialists and engineers dedicated to identifying, building, and scaling new data-driven ideas and technologies that deliver value to both EY audit teams and clients. Remsen also facilitates thought leadership sessions on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, as a subject matter expert. Remsen has 12 years of experience in auditing complex and subjective accounting areas for multiple public and private companies. In the last 3 years, he has gained training and experience in data analytics, visualization, automation, and emerging technologies. His scope of industry experience in audit includes multiple Fortune 100 companies in technology, telecommunications, airlines and retail. Remsen has served a variety of public companies in his DID Center of Excellence role, including Alphabet, Oracle, Apple, AT&T, and Southwest Airlines, among others as well as multiple private companies. Remsen is a CPA in Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science double-degree in Accounting/Information Management & Finance and a Master of Science degree in accounting.
Jason Jones
Jason is a serial entrepreneur who has launched several fintech-related businesses. Jason is the Co-Founder and Head of Growth for TellenAI, a Generative AI company for audit practices. He is responsible for helping large accounting firms adopt Tellen’s AI Platform to transform their business practices digitally. Jason spent five years in the blockchain industry as CEO of END-Labs, Chief Commercial Officer at Centrifuge, and an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at ConsenSys. Earlier in his career, Jason served as CEO at VIA Folio, Fintech Nexus, and HighStep Capital and was co-founder of Lending Robot. Jason began his career as a fund manager and analyst at J. Goldman & Co., Goldman Sachs, Cambridge Associates, and Fidelity Investments. Jason holds an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University and a BS from Babson College.
Steve Yang
Dr. Steve Yang is an Associate Professor of the School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Systems and Information Engineering from University of Virginia with concentration on Financial Engineering. His research has been focused on understanding markets’ irrationality and its impact on trading, portfolio, risk management, and systemic risk using decision science tools such as Markov decision processes, reinforcement learning, and other artificial intelligence (AI) methods. His research has been funded by a variety of NGOs, government agencies and industry firms such as, NSF, SWIFT, IRRC, IAAER, CFTC, DoD, Accenture, Northrop Grumman, KPMG, etc. He graduated at the top of his class with a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Beihang University.
Dr. Steve Yang is currently the Director of the Center for Research toward Advancing Financial Technologies (CRAFT) established by Stevens Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF). He has worked with several major federal financial regulators such as, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Treasury in the capacity as either a research consultant or visiting scholar. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for European Journal of Finance. He also served as the Associate Editor for Expert Systems With Applications (ESWA) journal, the guest editor for Quantitative Finance journal, and NSF review panelist in the past. His research has been published on journals such as Quantitative Finance, Decision Sciences, Journal of Banking & Finance, Expert Systems with Applications, European Journal of Finance, Neurocomputing, etc.
