Charge

The Accounting PhD Rookie Recruiting and Research Camp (Rookie Camp) brings together accounting PhD candidates, faculty from universities interested in interviewing candidates for faculty positions, and possibly recruiters from private sector firms.

Rookie Camp is an annual two-day forum held in December for faculty and recruiters to meet and network with PhD candidates, attend 10-minute research presentations by job-seeking candidates, and interview job-market candidates before making decisions about recruiting "fly-outs." Rookies are defined as those with an expected graduation in the upcoming Spring and are limited to one presentation appearance at Rookie Camp.

Specifically:

  • Plan Friday afternoon sessions for students.
  • Evaluate Rookie Camp performance and surveys.
  • Discuss whether any changes or alterations are needed.
  • Serve as a sounding board for new initiatives proposed.
