Objectives

The mission of the Leadership Section is to stimulate excellence in accounting education through outstanding leadership of accounting programs.

The goals of the Leadership Section include:

Excellence in accounting program leadership—to increase the effectiveness of professional educators responsible for leadership of accounting education programs;

Continuous improvement in accounting education—to assist accounting program leaders in the continuous improvement of their programs, through research, networking, and communications;

Excellence in accounting education programs—to influence and support high quality in the design and delivery of accounting education, including participation in the accounting accreditation process; and

Organizational and financial integrity—maintain an organization responsive to the needs of key stakeholders, developing and managing the financial resources necessary to fulfill APLG's mission.

The new Leadership in Accounting Education Section (formed through the merger of the AAA Accounting Programs Leadership Group (APLG) and the Federation of Schools of Accountancy (FSA)) will host its Inaugural Seminar on February 10-11, 2023, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We are planning some special events for our kick-off seminar that you will not want to miss.  Join us to celebrate the past and the future, engage with old and new leaders to share advice, and leave with ideas to help overcome challenges in the accounting profession.  Our joint forces can provide a strong voice to lead the profession during this evolution.
