Using Critical Thinking to Enhance Professional Judgment, Ethical Reasoning, and Decision-Making Skills

ABO Section

This webinar is sponsored by the The Public Interest, Ethics, and Sustainability Section
(Learn more about the The Public Interest, Ethics, and Sustainability Section HERE.)

The absence of critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills have been largely to blame for frauds such as Enron and WorldCom. Accounting professionals make professional judgments that should embrace the public interest, not those of the client and management. In this webinar, you will learn how four experts incorporate these tools to teach students about ethical responsibilities and accountability in the accounting profession.

Learning Objective(s): 1. Explain how to apply critical thinking to make ethical decisions. 2. Describe how cases can be used to enhance ethical reasoning skills. 3. Apply data visualization to strengthen critical thinking and ethical reasoning skills. 4. Discuss how technology can be used to enhance professional judgment and ethical decision-making skills.
