Presenter: W. Robert Knechel

Presenter: Justin Leiby

Protecting Human Subjects – the importance of Institutional Review Boards and their global counterparts

If you’re a doctoral student just getting started in research – or a senior scholar with a lot of experience in archival methods who is considering adding a survey to your study – this webinar is designed to provide background into the importance of protecting human subjects, the role of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), and the practices in place for publishing in the AAA’s journal collection for scholars within – and outside – of the US. W. Robert Knechel will share his experiences in the first few months with The Accounting Review, Justin Leiby, an expert in IRB practices, will shed light on steps to take before executing your research, and Dana Hermanson, as chair of the Publications Committee, will ask for feedback as the committee develops educational materials and/or an expanded policy for human subjects research.
