The 2017 New Faculty Consortium, sponsored by the American Accounting Association and funded by the Ernst & Young Foundation, will be held February 2-4, 2017 at the Lansdowne Resort and Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia. In conjunction with EY, the Board of Directors of the American Accounting Association has specified the following eligibility criteria for new faculty to attend the 2017 Consortium:
- They must be employed by a U.S. AACSB business-accredited school as a new tenure-track faculty; and they must be in their first tenure-track position in accounting, with a start date no later than December 31, 2016. Visiting faculty members are not eligible.
- They must have successfully defended their dissertations. The defense must have occurred either before the new faculty started their first tenure-track positions at their current schools, or within 12 months after starting their tenure-track position at their current school. The defense date must be prior to December 15, 2016.
- The date of the New Faculty Consortium must be within 20 months after each new faculty member's dissertation defense date, and within 20 months after starting their tenure-track positions at their current schools.
- The school or the new faculty member must pay a program fee (per attendee). New faculty may attend only one New Faculty Consortium.
Nominations for the 2017 New Faculty Consortium were accepted through October 1, 2016. Nominations are now closed.
