The AAA Announces the Launch of the American Accounting Association Foundation

Mark H. Taylor, 2023-2024 President of the American Accounting Association (AAA), announced the launch of the American Accounting Association Foundation on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, during the organization’s Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. The Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3), will support the activities and programming of the AAA. “The accounting academy and the accounting profession are at a critical juncture. To help ensure the sustainability of the profession and the academy, this is the right time for the American Accounting Association to launch a separate Foundation,” Taylor said.

The Foundation’s Mission Statement was shared during the launch announcement:

With a goal to ensure a vibrant and thriving Accounting Profession, the American Accounting Association Foundation supports programs and initiatives that advance accounting education, the accounting academy, and the accounting profession, through five focused areas:

  • Supporting Teaching Excellence
