Jeffrey M. Wooldridge, Michigan State University

Jeffrey M. Wooldridge is University Distinguished Professor of Economics at Michigan State University, where he has taught since 1991. He served as co-director of the Pre-Doctoral Training Program in the Economics of Education at MSU from 2009 to 2015. From 1986 to 1991, Dr. Wooldridge was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He received his bachelor of arts, with majors in computer science and economics, from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1982, with high distinction in general scholarship.  He received his doctorate in economics in 1986 from the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Wooldridge has published more than 60 articles in internationally recognized journals, as well as several book chapters, including articles in the Handbook of Econometrics and the Handbook of Applied Econometrics.  He is the author of Introductory Econometrics: A Modern Approach (South-Western, 6e, 2016) and Econometric Analysis of Cross Section and Panel Data (MIT Press, 2e, 2010).

Dr. Wooldridge is a fellow of the Econometric Society and of the Journal of Econometrics.  His other awards include the Plura Scripset award from Econometric Theory and the Sir Richard Stone prize from the Journal of Applied Econometrics. He received three teacher-of-the-year awards from the graduate economics association at MIT and he has taught dozens of short courses internationally on applied econometrics. He has also been an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow.

Dr. Wooldridge has served as editor of the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, co-editor of Econometric Theory, econometrics co-editor of Economics Letters, and associate editor for the Journal of Econometrics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the Journal of Economic Literature.

Fei Du is an Assistant Professor of Accountancy in Gies College of Business. Before she joined University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall of 2017, she served as an Assistant Professor in Accounting in the University of Hong Kong in 2011-2017. Fei is interested in field-archival and big-data managerial accounting research and she runs field interviews with practitioners to guide her empirical efforts. Her research has appeared in academic journals including The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Journal of Management Accounting Research. Professor Du has teaching interests closely aligned with her research interests. She has taught cost accounting and management control system. Most recently, she has designed and taught data analytics for managerial accounting.

Radha Ganesan has been working in the areas of Education and Training for the past 13 years. She comes with extensive experience in designing and delivering professional development learning experiences for a wide range of sectors. She has been worked in international development sector in the South Asia and African region seven years, focusing on technology integration, instructional design, curriculum design and training (formal and informal programs). She has worked with universities in the United States, the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction, National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), World Bank and the USAID. She has a doctorate degree in instructional design, development and evaluation as well as a M.S. degree in educational program evaluation from the school of education, Syracuse University and a M.Ed. in special education from the teacher’s college, University of Cincinnati.

William Goldman, Northeastern University
CGMA Teaching Symposium Session I

Professor Goldman is a former Big 4 auditor who is an accounting faculty member at Northeastern University. In over a decade of teaching, he has taught a variety of courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs, including advanced financial accounting, management accounting, strategic cost analysis, and auditing.  Professor Goldman is also a co-founder of the Hub of Analytics Education (hubae.org).  The HUBAE’s mission is to improve the educational experience and the skill sets of students by providing open educational resources to faculty across the globe.  He has written cases/exercises designed for management accounting and cost accounting which emphasize data visualization.  Prof. Goldman believes that data visualization is an imperative element of teaching data analytics to students.
