(Learn more about our Section HERE.)

Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR) is the official journal of the International Accounting Section (IAS) of the American Accounting Association (https://publications.aaahq.org/jiar). As a premier outlet for international accounting scholarship, JIAR publishes high-quality research that advances our understanding of how accounting information, standards, and practices operate in a global context.

This panel is designed to help scholars better understand JIAR’s mission and editorial expectations. This panel aims to introduce the journal’s scope, highlight the types of research the journal seeks to publish, and provide practical guidance on navigating the submission and review process. The panel will also include time for Q&A, allowing participants to raise specific questions related to publishing in JIAR or developing international accounting research more broadly.

Learning Objective(s): Participants will be able to identify the types of international accounting research JIAR seeks to publish.
Participants will gain practical guidance on preparing and positioning manuscripts for JIAR.
Participants will learn how to align research questions, methods, and contributions to develop and submit impactful international accounting studies.
