Life in the CAAS Lane: How Client Accounting and Advisory Services Are Shaping the Future of Accounting
Client Accounting and Advisory Services has become a primary growth engine within Top 100 CPA firms. What was once outsourced bookkeeping is now a technology-enabled, advisory-focused practice that combines accounting expertise, systems, data, and client leadership.
In this session, CAAS leaders from leading firms will share what modern CAAS practices actually look like, what they are hiring for, where the talent gaps exist, and what they need from accounting educators to better prepare students for this evolving career path.
This conversation is designed to connect academia and practice around a shared goal: preparing graduates for the roles firms are building today.
Learning Objective(s): At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Describe how Client Accounting and Advisory Services is structured within Top 100 CPA firms and how it differs from traditional audit and tax roles. 2. Identify the technical, technology, and advisory competencies CAS leaders are seeking in new hires. 3. Evaluate curriculum and recruiting strategies that better align accounting education with the evolving needs of CAS practices.
