The ELS Poster Session showcases ideas, teaching strategies and education innovations that support learning in accounting. It offers an interactive format for presenters to engage colleagues and exchange ideas and resources. The ELS Poster Session will take place during the Friday night reception of the Southeast Region Meeting. Poster display sizes and display space will be determined at a later date and presenters will be notified directly of those specifications.

Sharpen Your Teaching Skills Sessions
Teaching Session proposals are now being accepted for the Sharpen Your Teaching Skills track of concurrent sessions at the meeting. This track of sessions is designed to offer new ideas and best practices in teaching FOR region members, BY region members! Submit your proposal for a mini-workshop presentation, or for a teacher panel, and share your knowledge and experience with your peers.

The deadline for submitting Teaching Session proposals is Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Submissions should be sent to Emma Cole at ecole43491@troy.edu, and should include:

• 150-200-word description of the session, and what attendees will learn from attending it

• Identification of session format (panel, workshop), and who the presenters/panelists will be (NOTE: you will be responsible for leading the session at the meeting)

• Time requested for session: 50, 75, or 100 minutes (indicate which time lengths are possible, and which are optimal)

• Space on the program is limited, so please also indicate whether you could convert this proposal into an Effective Learning Strategies (ELS) Poster, and present it at the ELS session on Friday evening of the meeting.

Sharing Best Teaching Practices

The deadline for submitting Teaching Tip proposals is Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Submit your great idea to Jean Thompson, AAA Manager Meetings and Education at jean.thompson@aaahq.org.

Do you have a teaching idea that you use in your classes? Would you like to present it at the meeting and be featured as a presenter on the program? Then you are invited to submit a proposal for a 10-minute presentation during the Sharing Best Teaching Practices session.  The session moderator will work with accepted presenters to fine tune their ideas into 10-minute attention-grabbing presentations.  We welcome ALL educators to submit proposals. This is your chance to share with the accounting teaching community that great idea for how to teach a difficult concept, how to design and lead an effective group project, how to establish a nurturing and inspiring culture in the classroom, or how to incorporate critical thinking and professional judgement into accounting courses.  We are especially looking for ideas that integrate the Pathway's "Vision Model" or embed big data and analytics experiences into courses and curriculum.

This session is sponsored by the Conference on Teaching and Learning in Accounting (CTLA).
