Excellence in Auditing Education Workshop: “How Are Innovations in Technology Influencing the Audits of Today and Tomorrow?”

The 2020 Excellence in Auditing Education Workshop will introduce audit educators to various technology innovations that are influencing audits of today and tomorrow. The workshop will consist of a panel discussion by experienced practitioners, followed by a series of hands-on demonstrations of tools and cases that can be used in auditing classrooms.

Advanced Preparation Required: This workshop includes a significant hands-on aspect where attendees will be led through a series of case demonstrations and other activities designed for the classroom. Learning Objectives: From artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), and drone-assisted inventory observations to machine-read data extraction, data analytics, and visualization tools, innovations in technology are providing external and internal auditors with new tools and strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of their audits. As students of today prepare to become early-career professionals of tomorrow, it’s imperative they understand how evolving technology will influence the way they accomplish specific audit objectives.
